About Pacific Northwest Pomeranians:

Pacific Northwest Pomeranians began with a simple belief: every puppy deserves a loving beginning, and every family deserves lifelong support.

Meet Catherine:

Every preservation program has a story. This is mine.

My name is Catherine Woods.

I fell in love with Pomeranians after rescuing a tiny 3 lb. black and tan Pom that had been abandoned at a veterinarian’s hospital. She had been very loved, but her owner had to go into long term care, and was unable to take her along.

She trembled in my hands and looked into my eyes — and I was immediately lost — so in love!

She became my constant companion. She went to work with me, traveled with me, hiked with me, and quietly became part of nearly every memory from that chapter of my life.

When she passed away, it felt as though a piece of my heart went with her. Years of joyful, constant companionship ended far too soon… life simply wasn’t the same without her.

I searched for nearly two years before I found another Pomeranian. More difficult than finding a puppy was finding a breeder I truly trusted. Eventually I drove to Oregon to bring home the little Pom who is still by my side today.

That experience planted a seed. I realized two things. Families shouldn’t have to wonder whether they could trust the person raising their puppy, and: The journey to finding your puppy should be joyful.

That belief continues to guide every decision I make at Pacific Northwest Pomeranians.

As I searched for a breeder I could truly trust, I realized there was room for a different kind of preservation program on the Olympic Peninsula. The lack of local, well-informed breeders seemed very clearly like a need that I could fill. My background in Business Administration and Animal Husbandry gave me the knowledge and tools to build it. I resolved to build the kind of preservation program I had been searching for - one rooted in integrity, education, transparency, and lifelong relationships with the families who place their trust in me.. Since then, my work has been dedicated to that goal.

Today, every decision I make begins with one simple question:

“If this puppy were joining my own family, would I be thrilled?”

That question guides every pairing, every decisioin, and every puppy raised at Pacific Northwest Pomeranians.

I know firsthand that the right Pomeranian doesn’t simply become a pet. They become a source of companionship, laughter, comfort, and countless memories. It’s the same gift one tiny Pomeranian gave me all those years ago - and it’s what I hope every family finds here.

A Carefully Considered Program:

Pacific Northwest Pomeranians is a small, carefully managed program focused on producing sound, well-adjusted companions.

Each pairing is planned with close attention to health, structure, and temperament. Puppies are not produced casually - they are the result of deliberate, informed decisions made over time.

Daily Life

Our Pomeranians are raised in-home, and as part of a structured daily routine.

From birth, puppies are handled, observed, and supported through each stage of development. Cleanliness, consistency, and calm exposure to everyday life are foundational here.

We prioritize:

  • Stable early development

  • Clean, well-kept environments

  • Regular handling and observation

  • A steady, predictable routine

This work is done with the intention of producing Pomeranians who settle easily and confidently into their future homes.

Standards

We maintain a limited number of Pomeranians so that each one receives proper care and attention.

Health testing, ongoing evaluation, and practical experience guide the program. Decisions are made with the long-term well-being of the dog in mind - not convenience.

Our Community

We believe in building lasting relationships with the families who welcome our puppies.

This is not a one-time transaction. It is the beginning of a connection rooted in trust, respect, and shared love for the Pomeranian.

Who This is For

This program is a good fit for those who appreciate:

  • Structure and consistency

  • High standards of care

  • A long-term commitment to the Pomeranian

If that aligns with you, we encourage you to apply.
